HANDICAP DOUBLES TOURNAMENTS – CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
ALL SUBJECT TO TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE’S DISCRETION:
Please ensure that you pay your registration before the tournament starts. Your court allocation for each round is on the glass doors – E.g. if you’re in Green group and you’re the third pair, you will be known as G3, second pair in Red, R2 etc..
- Tournament will be run as a Round Robin with handicap scoring as follows: First game starts at love all. When a team goes 1 game up, that team starts the next game at -15 , if that team goes 2 games up, they start the next game at -30, if a team gets 3 games or more up they start the next game at -40.
- Start your match as close as you can to the first bell ring. When the bell is rung again 25 mins later, continue playing to finish the point in progress (not the game).
- There is only one deuce per game. At deuce (for the first and only time), whoever wins the next point wins the game. The receiving team decides who should receive the serve, so the person serving must change sides.
- The aim is to win as many games as possible in each match. The winning team should report the scores to the desk as promptly as possible after the match has finished.
- Matches are 25 mins each from bell ring to bell ring. Everyone is guaranteed to play a minimum of 5 matches. Tea will be taken after the 3rd round of matches.
- Players must get on court promptly between each match. We’re allowing a maximum time limit of 10 minutes between each round but it could be less than this depending on how we’re travelling.
- A player injured during a match is allowed a 5 minute recovery period, after which he / she must continue or forfeit the match.
- In the Final: Mens: Winners of Green Group will play the Winners of Blue Group, Ladies: Winners of Purple Group will play the Winners of Red Group. Final will be played in the same manner as the other rounds – a 25 minute match.
