Partial Grass Court Closure – from 2nd August

Our Groundsman Greg O’Dea knows that CLTC Members are passionate about our tennis and he does all he can to keep us on court all year round, unlike many other clubs who close their grass courts in winter.

To ensure an uninterrupted Spring & Summer season, Grass courts 1-4 are closing as of 2nd August and Grass courts 7-10 are still a few weeks away from being ready for play. Grass courts 5, 6, 11, 12 remain playable along with the 4 hard courts. The synthetic courts have been closed due to the imminent redevelopment works.

So for the next few weeks, due the reduced number of courts available, Saturday afternoon social tennis will need to be managed carefully to avoid long waits on the verandah between matches.

For at least the month of August, for each Saturday, you will be asked to nominate a playing time slot, either:

Group 1: 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm

or

Group 2: 3.00 pm – 5.00 pm

Afternoon tea will still be served at 3.00 pm.

A maximum of 32 players can be managed in each time slot. We encourage Group  1 players to return later in the day for Verandah sundowners & refreshments.

Please respond to the weekly email sent out with your preferred time slot. Places will be allocated on a first-in, best-dressed scenario.

Thank you for your patience & consideration during this necessary court maintenance period.
